Simon Yates (Visma-Lease a Bike) sealed his first ever Giro d’Italia in Rome as the team also celebrated it's second sprint win with Olav Kooij
The day was a processional one to start but when the speed increased in the closing kilometres the Visma-Lease a Bike team committed to Kooij and executed a textbook lead out.
The double joy for Visma came less than 24 hours after the team learned of the death of Daisy Gesink the wife of ex-rider Robert Gesink, who spent his entire career with the team.
