Dwars door Vlaanderen – translated into English as 'Across Flanders' – is one of the Belgian spring Classics, and a familiar amuse-bouche ahead of the Tour of Flanders.
The 80th edition of the race starts in Roeselare and finishes in Waregem in West Flanders. Dating back to 1945, the men's race hosts a feast of cobbled sectors and 'hellingen' – punchy climbs. The women's race, first held in 2012, takes place on an out-and-back loop from Waregem.

Coverage is geo-restricted, so if you're away from home at the time of the race, you'll need a VPN to get your typical coverage while abroad – more on that below.
Most streaming platforms have geo-restrictions these days, which means they only work in certain countries. But being locked out of the races is a thing of the past thanks to a VPN.

Scheduled just four days ahead of the Tour of Flanders, Dwars door Vlaanderen is the final form-tester before the cobbled Monument.
The men's route for 2026 is 185km, including seven cobbled sectors and 12 climbs - two additions to last year's course. The women's route is shorter, at 128.9km, with six cobbled sectors and eight sharp climbs (including two ascents of Nokereberg).
The 2025 men's race provided a last-minute shock win. Three Visma-Lease a Bike riders held the front of the race alongside EF Education-EasyPost's Neilson Powless, with Wout van Aert set up for a sprint finish. But the Dutch team didn't account for the explosive speed of Powless, who blasted into first place ahead of a dejected Visma team.
Elisa Longo Borghini (UAE Team ADQ) is the reigning winner of the women's, and took her first place win after a 30km solo effort that saw her clinch her 50th career win. Lotte Kopecky (SD Worx-Protime) and Elisa Balsamo (Lidl-Trek) came in behind her.
Kopecky and Longo Borghini will line up on Wednesday, but will not be joined by Balsamo. Instead, they'll face competition from 2024 race-winner, Marianne Vos (Visma-Lease a Bike) and Marlen Reusser (Movistar), among others.
